Kofi Tries to Count the Uncountable

One hot day in Nigeria, King Dauda and his advisor Kofi were chilling in the palace gardens when the king spotted some vultures perched in a tree.

"Kofi, my good man! How many vultures you estimate are fluttering about in our kingdom" asked King Dauda.

Kofi stroked his goatee. "Exactly 120,173 vultures, Your Highness."

The king looked shocked. "No way! How'd you tally them all so quick"

"Oh, I've been conducting a thorough bird census for many years in my spare time," Kofi replied matter-of-factly.

"Hmm, but what if there's less vultures than you said" asked the king.

"No problem. Some probably migrated to visit their extended families in neighboring lands," Kofi explained.

"I see, I see. But what if there's way more vultures than your number" pressed King Dauda.

"Simple - we must be hosting vulture guests from nearby kingdoms!" exclaimed Kofi.

King Dauda laughed heartily and slapped his knee. He could never seem to catch Kofi off-guard. Whether he actually counted each vulture or not, Kofi clearly knew how to think fast when questioned by the king. His creative vulture excuses cracked the king up every time!
